This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan and thoroughly tested and the sides and back were sealed with clear lacquer.

It measures 120 mm (4.72 in) long × 75 mm (2.95 in) wide × 27 mm (1.06 in) tall, and weighs 530 g (18.70 oz / 1.17 lb).

Mizukihara is a western mine located in close proximity to Ohira. Mizukihara is revered for their rich history of sword polishing grade Uchigumori, which is a layer within the Tenjou Suita strata. Uchigumori are indispensable for sword and blade polishing as their unique composition creates a beautiful, hazy effect on the steel, known as Kasumi. All sharpeners can appreciate Uchigumori as it is quite easy to use and it's fast cutting, grit rich composition allows for medium grit scratches to be removed and replaced with a blanket of uniform haze. Harder Uchigumori Jito koppa with Renge and Suminagashi. There are a few slightly scratchy lines which can be easily removed. Great Uchigumori for edge work and polishing alike. Inky and firm with fast cutting speed. Great all around, harder Uchigumori which is highly affordable.
