This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 140 mm (5.51 inches) long × 77 mm (3.03 inches) wide × 30 mm (1.18 inches) tall, and weighs 810 g (28.57 oz / 1.79 lbs).

Vintage Nakayama Hon Tomae Kiita with vivid underlying, swirling patterns and orange Kan. This is a dense, super fine stone with amazing cutting speed. Nakayama is known for being the pinnacle of sharpening stones and this example is an amazingly high performance stone. This is an extremely old mined Nakayama stone which highly resembles an infamous Kuramaguchi Nakayama. There is a line on the surface but it can't be felt when honing and appears to be shallow and tight in nature.
