Vintage Nakayama Mizu Asagi sourced through a famous hardware shop in Japan. This piece was processed in the 1970's from rough ore purchased directly from Hatanaka's inventory. The stone is not stamped with a Maruka stamp but retains the exact same high performance characteristics as a stone with a Maruka stamp. This 60' stone represents an amazing value. This Super hard Mizu Asagi has perfect base hardness for honing with Mikawa nagura and offers clear, clean feedback which is a highly desirable trait. This allows for the user to experience the edge status and particle state via tactile feedback. Perfect for razor final finishing. This piece has been marked by the store owner denoting that the rough stone originates from Hatanaka Mining Co. The Maruka symbol on the backside, in this case, indicates a super pure, high quality Nakayama stone, just as Maruka does.
