These are larger-sizedl nagura (or slurry stones) recently mined from the famous Nakayama mountain in Kyoto, Japan.The mountain’s mines had been closed for years, but this supplier has re-started mining with the permission from the mountain owner and has found good quality stones. These can be used as nagura as-is, cut into multiple slurry stones or even used to hone small blades or as pocket hones.
Guide to stone stamps: Black characters say "Nakayama Awaseto". Green stamp is the stone supplier’s emblem. The black marking is the stamp of Kyoto natural stone association.
