Nakayama Suita Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

 This exceptional Japanese whetstone was obtained by us from a collection, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.

It measures 140 mm (5.51 inches) long × 100 mm (3.94 inches) wide × 44 mm (1.73 inches) tall, and weighs 1320 g (46.56 oz / 2.91 lbs).

Super hard, old stock Nakayama Suita Koppa. These koppa were mined during the mid 1900's by our wholesalers grandfather and stored in their warehouse. They are small, irregular koppa, some with minor imperfections like lines etc. The lines can be dug and the stone used as if they were not there. These Nakayama Suita Koppa are mirror polishing stones with their super hard base. They contain dense abrasive particles which can be released through various methods of slurry creation such as Mikawa Nagura, diamond plate, or Tomo Nagura. Each method will yield slightly differing results.
