Nakayama Tomae Asagi Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 205 mm (8.07 inches) long × 75 mm (2.95 inches) wide × 40 mm (1.57 inches) tall, and weighs 1664 g (58.70 oz / 3.66 lbs)

Classic, Old mined Nakayama Shiki Tomae. Mined in the 1940's era. This Asagi features the tradional Azuki green base coloration. A super hard, fine Asagi which is perfect for razor honing. Although these Nakayama Asagi have extremely fine abrasive particle make up. This composite feature allows for the stone to produce hyper keen, light saber edges with relative ease. It can be used either with nagura progressions or standalone finishing and do so at an extremely high level. This piece excells, not only in the razor honing category, but also a high level piece for knives, tools and swords. Whether polishing or edge sharpening, this Asagi will do so at the highest level. Although hard, it has the quintessential cushioned/elastic feel which is indicative of a high level finishing stone. Not only does it increase the user friendly/handling aspect, but it also aids in minimizing scratching while sharpening/polishing, resulting in a highly reflective, refined yet contrasting mirror like finish.
