This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan and thoroughly tested and the sides and back were sealed with clear lacquer.

It measures 175 mm (6.89 in) long × 75 mm (2.95 in) wide × 16 mm (0.63 in) tall, and weighs 574 g (20.25 oz / 1.27 lb).

Beautiful and rare Yaginoshima Karasu. Hard and fine Karasu with creamy, easy going feel for its hardness. Extremely unique feel and operation, great for experienced users. Can be used for knives and tools where a fine finish is desired. When honing razors, this piece works well with all finishing methods. Will release some slurry with harder Nagura but feedback is amazing. Produces a crisp, insanely sharp edge with proper work to break down the slurry. Great for someone looking for a unique stone and departure from "quiet/subtle feedback". Extremely rare stone and double sided. Great for knife/tool edges and produces aggressive edges with forced slurry.
