Vintage Okudo Tomae Asagi for razors and tools. Okudo is known as "Suitayama" as many of its layers including Tomae can have microscopic su holes, just like Suita layer stone. This can increase the cutting speed and allows the stone to release its grit rich abrasive more easily, especially when using it with water only. This Asagi is firm, dense and fine with compact, solid feel. While understated in terms of appearance, it performs at an extremely high level and there's a good reason authentic Okudo Asagi so valuable, rare and sought after. Performs very similarly to Nakayama Asagi in all ways. suitable for all skill levels and great for beginners looking to try harder stones for the first time.
