Okudo Suita Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone
This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed with clear lacquer on the sides to protect the stone for long term use.
It measures 140 mm (5.51 in) long × 80 mm (3.15 in) wide × 25 mm (0.98 in) tall, and weighs 650 g (22.93 oz / 1.43 lb).

Shobudani is one of the two original Honyama mines, along with Nakayama. Shobudani are treasured in Japan for their versatility and performance driven characteristics. For centuries it produced a vast amount of differing stones from various strata. This Shobudani Mizu Asagi was mined from the Shiki Tomae layer. Shiki Tomae layer stones are typically very hard and dense, this one being no exception. Perfect for razor final finishing with its impressively dense, compact structure and purity. Although hard, this Shobudani demonstrates amazing ease of use and cutting speed relative to its hardness.
