Ozaki is an Eastern, Yamashiro mine which produced highly revered stones. Ozaki was praised highly by Iwasaki in his book and compared to the quality and functionality of Nakayama stones, at an affordable price. Ozaki Asagi or Shiki Tomae are known for their hardness and refinement capabilities. Their slurry texture is unique and speaks clearly to the user through tactile and audible feedback which is whispy and high pitched. These particles can be worked and broken down with decreasing pressure and increased water vs slurry ratio throughout the final finishing process. The user can feel the particles breaking down and becoming decreasingly present to the touch. These Ozaki Asagi are exceedingly smooth and easy to use for their hardness and density.
