Pearson & Co. - Fully Restored Vintage 6/8 Sheffield Straight Razor with Rare Scales - Shave Ready
This excellent antique high carbon steel straight razor was made in Sheffield England around the late-1800s by the Pearson Cutlery Company. It is a handsome razor, in lovely condition and has been restored and honed to a shave ready state.
Overall condition: Beautiful, fully restored top to bottom, cleaned and disinfected inside and out.
Blade: The blade is a heavy quarter hollow grind, measures 6/8" wide from edge to top of the spine. It has a square tip, no visible hone wear and a wonderful restored finish and a few tiny blemishes remaining. The etching on the tang is in very good condition.
Scales: The scales are an interesting and rare pressed material, which I believe too be paper or cellulose? This is the first set of scales I've come across like this and have handled hundreds of Sheffield razors. They are in excellent condition and the blade is held tightly and centers well between them.
Box: The excellent original box is also included.
Honing: A new bevel was set on the blade and it was further honed using natural stones and then stropped on shell cordovan. It has been disinfected and is ready to put into immediate use. We take pride in our honing and are sure that this razor will give a keen shave.
