This razor has very detailed pressed horn scales portraying a steam locomotive in very detailed scenes, see the photos! These very rare scales may never been seen again!

Restoration: Fully restored: The near wedge blade was reground on a 8" wheel, fully polished and cleaned, fitted with the restored original scales, repinned and finally honed to a pleasant shaving edge

Material: Sheffield Crucible Carbon Steel
Width: 13/16” wide from edge to top of spine at the widest point
Grind: Near Wedge with beautiful spine bevels
Hone Wear: None, careful regrinding has left the blade with no hone wear and a thin, even bevel
Tip: Barbers Notch
Finishes: Crocus (mirror) finish all over
Condition: Very attractive, only the slightest cosmetic blemishes (patina) remaining in the steel, commensurate with its age, the tang stamp is impressive- deep and crisp
Shave ready: Yes, freshly honed with one layer of tape on the spine, stropped and sanitized in Barbicide, fully ready to shave

Material: VERY Rare Pressed brown Buffalo Horn, lead wedge
Pinning: Brass pins & washers, only the pivot pin and washers have been replaced with reproduction
Condition: Excellent +, very detailed, some very light wear and one area of loss to bug nibbles but everything is still visible no major flaws, the blade is held tightly and centers well between them
About our restoration and honing process
Each one of our restored razors is brought back to life with a passion and attention to detail like it would be an addition to our own collection or user rotation. Many years of restoration experience and hundreds of restored razors sold around the world have refined our processes, but each razor is still given the time and individual attention it needs. Our vintage razors undergo dozens of steps involving blade unpinning (where necessarily) metal grinding/sanding with a range of different diameter and hardness wheels with various grits of abrasive and polishes. Scales are straightened and repaired when necessary, wet sanded and polishing. After the razor’s cosmetic and functional repairs are completed, a multistep honing process using a range of synthetic and natural sharpening stones is used to bring each razor back to keen and comfortable shaving sharpness. Finally stropping is performed on one of our cordovan leather strops and the blade is sanitized in Barbicide hospital-grade disinfectant.
