These high quality Tsushima Nagura are mined underwater off the coast of Tsushima island. There are many stones on the online market which claim to be Tsushima black/Ocean blue but many of those lower priced stones have questionable origins. These Tsushima stones which we source directly, are guaranteed to be of the highest quality and authenticity. These Nagura sized pieces are very consistent and effective across the board. They seem to be on the fine side for Tsushima and they have no problem in breaking down slurry which can take a long time in many past samples we've tested. For razors, the stone's slurry falls into the range of medium fine stones and they're capable of surprisingly fine finishes. No Tsushima stone should ever be confused with final finishing stone for razors. Although not the most fine, Tsushima stones have historically been treasured for their consistent characteristics and these are shining examples.
