Wakasa is a semi active mine which is known for producing consistent, fine stones. Wakasa stones are well respected in Japan for their particle uniformity, firm base hardness and polishing performance. Wakasa Tomae Asagi are typically firm, fine stones perfect for tools and razors. This Wakasa Asagi is a perfect razor size hone. This Asagi is quite hard and fine with dense composition. When honing water only, it has a unique buoyant feel which aids in light touch stroke consistency. Also works extremely well with Mikawa nagura progressions with clear feedback. Although quite hard, the stone also demonstrates a light elasticity which allows for heavier blades to be sharpened. Heavier pressure yields positive results as well so knives and tools can also be polished/sharpened, adding to its versatile nature. This Wakasa Asagi is capable of producing light saber edges.
