Razor Specifics:
This is a very fancy razor, very expensive for it's time it was undoubtedly owned by aristocracy
Age Range: Made during the Reign of King William, 1830-1837
Manufacturer: "Williams", Sheffield England
Restoration: Fully restored: The blade was carefully reground on an 8" wheel, fully polished and cleaned, fitted with the restored original scales, repinned and honed to a pleasant shaving edge(all in-house by GSG founder Matt W.)
Blade
Material: Carbon Steel
Width: 3/4" wide from edge to top of spine at the widest point
Grind: Fancy and elegant blade shape, Near Wedge
Hone Wear: None at all, careful regrinding has left the blade with no hone wear and a thin, even bevel at the edge 
Tip: Barbers notch
Finishes: Crocus (mirror) finish all over
Condition: Excellent, only the most minor blemishes (patina) remaining in the steel, commensurate with its age
Shave ready: Yes, freshly honed with one layer or tape on the spine
Scales
Material: Very rare, large size and stunningly figured mother of pearl, lined with brass
Pinning: Nickel silver pinning, only the pivot pin has been replaced 
Condition: Excellent & near flawless, glossy & highly polished, the blade centers well between them, the only flaw is the thin, sealed and stable crack at the face side wedge pin

About our restoration and honing process
Each one of our restored razors is brought back to life with a passion and attention to detail like it would be an addition to our own collection or user rotation. Many years of restoration experience and hundreds of restored razors sold around the world have refined our processes, but each razor is still given the time and individual attention it needs. Our vintage razors undergo dozens of steps involving blade unpinning (where necessarily) metal grinding/sanding with a range of different diameter and hardness wheels with various grits of abrasive and polishes. Scales are straightened and repaired when necessary, wet sanded and polishing. After the razor’s cosmetic and functional repairs are completed, a multistep honing process using a range of synthetic and natural sharpening stones is used to bring each razor back to keen and comfortable shaving sharpness. Finally stropping is performed on one of our cordovan leather strops and the blade is sanitized in Barbicide hospital-grade disinfectant.
