Kato era Nakayama Kuramaguchi Namito with Maruka stamp! Before Hatanaka Whetstone Co was founded, Kato San owned and operated the Nakayama mine. There were various mining shafts and ore pits within the Nakayama mine and the most famous and popular Nakayama of all time are Kuramaguchi Maruka. Kuramaguchi is the name of the mining shaft/ore pit where the Kuramaguchi were mined from. Kuramaguchi Nakayama contain microscopic Su holes similar to Suita stones, which occured in all layers with the Kuramaguchi shaft. Kuramaguchi Nakayama are known for their increased cutting speed and detailed and unique Kasumi finish. Beautiful, rare Namito stone with understated Azuki hunter green base color fading into an orange/khaki color. Dense, firm stone which is perfect for razors and Kamisori. San size and perfectly shaped stone. Just elastic enough for tools and small knives as well but best for razor honing. Very gentle, nuanced feel and silky smooth. Creates hyper keen, lightsaber edges with little effort.
