Hard, dense and fine Hideriyama Asagi with insane quality. Hideriyama is a western, Tanba area mine known for producing softer, highly abrasive stones. This Asagi was mined from a deep Tomae layer and demonstrates amazing density and hardness for Hideriyama. Hard Asagi stones are much less common to find. Amazing for all blades and quite fast cutting and aggressive for its hardness. Heirloom Quality Hideriyama Tomae with amazing purity and polishing capabilities. Very gentle, subtle feel with amazing balance of elasticity and hardness. Perfect for final finish of knives and tools, even capable of finishing a razor, which is extremely rare for Hideriyama. When slurry is forced, speed increases. A wide range of finishes are possible with forced slurry yielding more aggressive, hazy results. Finish can be refined significantly with work and a beautiful, bright yet hazy finish can be achieved.
