It measures 115 mm (4.53 in) long × 65 mm (2.56 in) wide × 23 mm (0.91 in) tall, and weighs 314 g (11.08 oz / 0.69 lb).

Nakayama is one of the original Honyama Mines, along with Shobudani. Nakayama are some of the most highly sought after stones worldwide and for great reason. Nakayama have been used throughout history for a wide variety of tasks and applications including razors, knives, tools and swords. This Nakayama was mined around the 1970's when mining started to decrease. Nakayama are known for being extremely grit rich, hard, and composed of highly abrasive, yet fine particles. For this reason, they are highly effective in cutting the hard steel, which makes them amazing for razors. This Akapin is a firm example with traditional reddish/brown base color. Quite easy to work with but it has a few lines which will need removal. priced low for the presence of lines. A rare Nakayama Akapin which can be used effectively after lines are removed.
