Ozaki is an Eastern mine which is lesser known abroad but highly coveted in Japan. Iwasaki famously recommended Ozaki stones for razors as a less expensive alternative to Nakayama Maruka at that time. This pure and dense Asagi features a brilliantly understated Haebute base color with goma and pronounced Kan rings. This is an extremely hard example which is more rare to see. Perfect for razor finishing with Mikawa nagura! This Asagi was mined from a lower strata. it's composition is dense and firm with a close to stone feel. Feedback is insanely clear, light and whispy with extremely fine, uniform, granular texture. Very light and delicate feeling stone. The stone's backside is a creamy, beautiful Haebute white color. This stone is capable of creating an insanely keen, light saber edge. This stone is just gentle enough to handle heavier blades like tools as well, adding to its value and versatility.
