This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed with clear lacquer on the sides to protect the stone for long term use.

It measures 175 mm (6.89 in) long × 43 mm (1.69 in) wide × 15 mm (0.59 in) tall, and weighs 236 g (8.32 oz / 0.52 lb).

Umajiyama is a western, tanba area mine known for producing softer tomae and suita stones. This stunning Iromono is medium hardness and quite fast cutting. Perfect for pre finishing razors as it removes previous grit scratches effectively. Wonderful for small knives and tools.
