NOS Maruichi Nakayama Shiki Tomae Ao asagi. Maruichi Shokai was a popular tennen toishi wholesaler and shop which closed down decades ago. This piece is from their remaining inventory which was stored by a specialty carpentry shop in Japan. Maruichi Nakayama stones were sold/traded directly from Hatanaka/Kato inventory so this stone was processed using their inventory. maruichi stones are highly revered in the razor, knife and tool communities and for great reason. A San sized stone which means long and narrow which lends itself to Kamisori and razor use or smaller tools. A super hard Nakayama stone which is best suited for razors using Mikawa Shiro Nagura or Tomo Nagura progressions. Quite fast considering its base hardness as many super hard Nakayama depending on how its used.
