Vintage Morihei Ohira Ao Renge Shiro Suita. Extremely rare Ohira Ao Renge Shiro Suita koppa from legendary shop Morihei in Tokyo. A perfectly clean and pure Shiro Suita koppa with stunning Ao (blue) Renge, resulting in a unique, aquamarine blue tint to the entire surface. After lapping and subsequent use, the stone will likely appear more vivid in color. This type of Ohira Suita is harder than medium and quite fast cutting with an extremely smooth, gliding sensation. Although not large, it is a perfectly clean and pure Suita and there is enough surface to polish larger knives with the surface being perfectly clean. An absolute joy to use for polishing with inky black swarf created instantly and a luxurious gliding sensation. Although harder, it is extremely easy to use. Creates a highly detailed, reflective, unique hazy finish with amazing detail and reflectivity for the depth of polish. Translates to knife and too edges by riding the perfect balance of tooth vs refinement and amazing edge retention. Also amazing for razors with its increased hardness. Feedback is on the drier side with high pitched tune and extremely fine, granular feel. erases previous grit scratches with ease and that deep, detailed Kasumi finish on the bevel. Defies logic in terms of shaving performance vs polish with its deep, hazier finish performing much more fine and keen than it's appearance.
