Yaginoshima Karasu Suita Tomo Nagura for slurry creation. Yaginoshima is a western, Tanba area mine which was well known for its pure Awasedo and highly covered Suita. Yaginoshima Suita is often compared to Okudo and Shinden Suita because of its firm, dense structure and highly abrasive particles. These Karasu Suita are extremely easy to use and will work well with base stones of nearly all hardness levels. 

These Nagura are medium hardness and highly abrasive with live, granular feel when honing. This clear feedback/vibration allows the user to discern edge and slurry progress. These Karasu Tomo Nagura are great for all levels of skill and wonderful for beginner learning how to read and discern feedback. These Tomo are largely pre finishing Nagura but highly skilled and patient honers can coax a finished edge with proper technique and especially water/slurry viscosity management.
